Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/8 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 bag (12 oz.) chocolate chips
1/2 c. walnuts (optional)
Preparation

In small pan, melt butter.
While hot, add both sugars.
Let cool.
Meantime, mix flour, soda and salt in mixing bowl.
In small bowl, beat egg slightly.
Add egg and vanilla to butter mixture; stir.
Add butter mixture to flour mixture; stir.
Add chocolate chips and walnuts; stir all until well mixed. Refrigerate for about an hour.
Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
Do not greased pan or cookie sheet.
Roll mixture into walnut-sized balls; place on cookie sheet.
Bake for 12 minutes.
Don't overcook.
Cookies should be moist and chewy.
