Mom'S Angel Food Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    3 egg whites
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    whipped cream
    shaved chocolate
    baked pie shell
Preparation
    Mix sugar, cornstarch and water in top of double boiler.
    Cook for 12 minutes or until thick and clear.
    Add salt.
    Beat egg whites until stiff with sugar.
    Pour cornstarch mixture in and heat until light and fluffy.
    Add vanilla.
    Pour into baked pie shell. Let cool.
    Serve topped with whipped cream and shaved chocolate.
