Candied Sweet Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium sweet potatoes
    1 c. hot water
    1/4 c. margarine
    1 1/2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Partially cook potatoes in boiling water; cool and peel.
    Slice 1/4-inch thick lengthwise.
    Put in a baking dish in layers.
    Boil water and sugar for 5 minutes.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Pour over potatoes.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until potatoes are clear and syrup is thick.
