Quick Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 chicken, cut up
    broth from chicken
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Place chicken in a large pot.
    Cover with water.
    Simmer, covered, for 45 minutes or until chicken is tender.
    Remove chicken from bones.
    Save broth.
    Combine flour and baking powder. Cut in shortening.
    Add milk.
    Mix well.
    Turn out on floured surface and knead lightly 4 to 5 times.
    Roll out to 1/8-inch thickness.
    Cut into strips.
    Drop dumplings into pot.
    Cover. Simmer 20 minutes.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings.
