Maucia'S Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. oleo
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk, with 1 tsp. soda
3 1/2 c. flour
1 (8 oz.) box chopped dates
2 c. chopped orange slices (candy)
2 c. pecans, chopped
1 can coconut

Preparation

Cream butter and sugar together.
Add eggs and 3 cups flour, alternating with 1/2 cup buttermilk.
In another bowl, mix 1/2 cup flour with nuts, dates, orange slices and coconut; mix together. Add to cake batter.
Pour into tube pan.
Bake at 250\u00b0 for 2 hours or longer, until done.
Glaze while cake is still hot.
