Onion Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. butter
    1/4 c. shortening
    2 1/2 Tbsp. milk
    8 bacon slices
    2 c. thinly sliced onions
    3 eggs
    1 c. commercial sour cream
    1/8 tsp. white pepper
    2 tsp. snipped chives
    1/2 tsp. caraway seed
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 425\u00b0.
    Into bowl, sift flour and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
    With pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in butter and half the shortening until mixture is very fine.
    Cut in remaining shortening until particles are the size of peas.
    Sprinkle milk, about a tablespoon at a time, over mixture, stirring with fork until dough clings together and cleans the bowl.
    Shape dough into a smooth ball.
