Caramel Bars - cooking recipe

1 pkg. milk chocolate cake mix
3/4 c. melted butter
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 pkg. caramels
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. pecans (optional)
Preparation

Mix the cake mix, butter and 1/3 c. evaporated milk together. Press 1/2 of of the mixture in a 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes and cool. Melt the caramels and evaporated milk in the microwave until smooth. Pour over crust. Sprinkle 1 cup of chocolate chips and 1 cup pecans over the caramel. Dot remaining cake mix batter over the top. Bake 350 degrees for 17 minutes.
