Buttermilk Donuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. sour cream or 6 Tbsp. shortening
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
    5 1/2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. soda
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Mix sugar and eggs well; add cream.
    Mix well, then add buttermilk and stir well.
    Add dry ingredients.
    Chill before rolling; cut and deep fry.
    Yields about 4 dozen.
