Budget Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 c. sugar
    14 c. water
    5 Tbsp. citric acid
    8 Tbsp. vanilla
    2 large cans pineapple juice
    10 qt. water
    food coloring
    1 qt. ginger ale
Preparation
    Combine sugar, 14 cups lukewarm water and 5 tablespoons citric acid in a large dishpan.
    Stir until sugar dissolves.
    Now add vanilla, juice and 10 quarts of water.
    Use food coloring to make punch your choice when a little is poured in a glass.
    Chill until ready to use, then add ginger ale and stir.
    I sometimes freeze a small bowl full and add to punch bowl before serving.
