Jello Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (16 oz.) can pear halves
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. cherry jello
    1 c. boiling water
    1 (4 1/2 oz.) container Cool Whip or 2 c. Dream Whip
Preparation
    Drain pears, reserving syrup.
    Add water to syrup to make 1 cup.
    Dissolve gelatin in boiling water.
    Add measured liquid. Chill until thickened, about 1 1/2 hours.
