Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. milk
2 c. cherries, drained
2 eggs
4 tsp. baking powder
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add beaten eggs.
Sift flour and baking powder together
and add alternating with the milk.
Fold in cherries.
Bake in a greased casserole dish, setting it in a heavy, covered Dutch oven.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for about 1 hour. Thicken cherry juice and pour over when serving.
