Ann'S Old-Fashioned Egg Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk, scalded
    1 c. sugar (scant)
    4 eggs, beaten together
    pinch of salt
    1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
    1/2 stick butter or margarine
    nutmeg (optional)
Preparation
    Scald milk.
    Add sugar and milk to eggs to which pinch of salt has been added.
    Pour mixture into unbaked pie crust and dot with butter.
    Sprinkle with nutmeg if desired.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until knife inserted comes out clean.
