Angel Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 c. all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
2 c. buttermilk
1 pkg. dry yeast
3 Tbsp. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. warm water
Preparation

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt.
Cut in shortening.
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Stir into buttermilk mixture to dry ingredients and stir until moistened.
Cover and chill.
When ready to use, roll out dough on lightly floured surface to 1/2 to 3/4-inch thickness.
Cut off biscuits with 2-inch cutter and place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 12 minutes.
Dough will keep several weeks in the refrigerator. You can add more flour and water to weaken mixture (of too strong a yeast taste).
Yield:
4 to 5 dozen (2-inch) biscuits.
