Jambalaya - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. cooked ham
    1/2 lb. shrimp
    6 to 8 bacon slices, cooked
    1 1/2 c. raw regular long grain rice
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 medium green pepper, chopped
    1 (13 3/4 oz.) can chicken broth
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    3 to 4 drops hot pepper sauce
Preparation
    One hour before serving, fry bacon.
    In bacon grease, cook rice, onion and pepper until rice is lightly browned.
    Stir in tomatoes, chicken broth, bay leaf, salt and thyme.
    Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
    Stir in ham, shrimp and pepper sauce. Cook, covered, for 15 to 20 minutes, until rice is tender; stir often.
    Sprinkle with bacon when serving.
    Extra chicken broth or tomato juice can be added if mixture is too dry.
