Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shredded lettuce
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1/2 c. chopped purple onion
    1 c. grated mild Cheddar cheese
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen green peas, cooked and drained (optional)
Preparation
    Fill the salad bowl one-half full of shredded lettuce.
    Add layer of celery, green peppers, purple onion, cheese and peas. Spread topping over top of salad.
    Let stand 7 to 8 hours or overnight in refrigerator.
    Keeps well for 2 to 3 days.
