Ritzy Dessert Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 Ritz crackers or saltines
    1 c. chopped nuts
    3 egg whites (large)
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    whipped topping
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar (optional)
Preparation
    Beat egg whites until stiff; add sugar.
    Fold in chopped nuts, finely crushed crackers and vanilla.
    Pour into an 8 or 9-inch pie pan and bake at 300\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Cool; top with whipped topping when serving.
    Refrigerate.
    Pie is even better the second day!
