Ingredients

1 yellow cake mix
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 1/2 c. sugar
9 oz. pkg. frozen coconut
12 oz. Cool Whip
Preparation

Bake cake in 9 x 13-inch pan according to directions.
Bring to boil and simmer for approximately 1 minute the sugar, milk and 1/2 package of coconut.
Add vanilla.
Cool cake 15 minutes and then punch holes all over cake using a dinner fork.
Spoon mixture over cake.
When cake is cool, spread Cool Whip over cake and other half of 9 ounce package of coconut.
Refrigerate.
