Creamy Fruit Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. Jell-O (preferably red)
    1 (16 oz.) can pineapple tidbits
    1 (16 oz.) can fruit cocktail
    3 large \"just ripe\" bananas
    1 large scoop vanilla ice cream or Cool Whip
    1 (8 oz.) can mandarin oranges
Preparation
    Drain canned fruits well.
    Prepare Jell-O per directions on the box; chill.
    Slice bananas into juice from fruit an drain. Beat ice cream or Cool Whip into slightly set Jell-O.
    Fold fruit into Jell-O mixture and chill.
    Can be decorated with maraschino cherries or whatever appeals to you.
    You may also add marshmallows, walnuts or coconut.
