Creamy Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. raw potatoes, diced
    1/4 c. onion, finely chopped
    1 1/2 c. water
    3 c. potato cooking liquid and milk
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 tsp. salt
    pepper as desired
    paprika or chopped parsley
Preparation
    Cook potatoes and onion in water in a covered saucepan until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes.
    Drain and mash potatoes. Save cooking liquid and add enough milk to make 3 cups of liquid. Slowly stir liquid into potatoes, adding fat and seasonings. Simmer a few minutes to blend flavors.
    Garnish with paprika or parsley and serve.
