Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 (16 oz.) can applesauce
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 c. plain flour, unsifted
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Preparation

Prepare 9-inch tube pan before starting.
Heat together applesauce, shortening, raisins and sugars in saucepan.
Sift together flour, soda, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon and ground cloves in mixing bowl.
When applesauce mixture is good and hot, pour over flour mixture and stir quickly.
Add chopped nuts.
