Tomato Soup Cake - cooking recipe

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 can tomato soup
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder (heaping)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Cream sugar and shortening; beat in egg.
Put baking soda in soup and add to the creamed mixture.
Sift flour, baking powder and spices together and add to creamed mixture.
Beat for 2 minutes.
Bake in 9 x 9-inch pan at 375\u00b0 until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean (about 35 minutes).
