Kolache - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. milk, scalded
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 pkg. yeast dissolved in 2 Tbsp. warm water
    apricot preserves or any of your choice
    2 eggs, beaten
    1/4 c. sugar
Preparation
    Combine milk, shortening, sugar and salt; cool to lukewarm and add yeast.
    Stir well.
    Add eggs and flour and mix to a smooth soft dough.
    Knead lightly on floured board.
    Place in greased bowl and let rise until doubled in bulk.
    Make dough into 1 1/2-inch balls.
    Flatten with 2 fingers to make an indentation in the middle.
    On a greased cookie sheet, let rise until double. Reflatten in center and fill center with preserves.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
    Cool and frost.
    These are delicious hot or cold.
