Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 c. butter
    6 apples
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Make syrup of sugar, water, cinnamon and nutmeg.
    Add butter and heat until butter melts.
    Pare and core apples and cut in halves.
