Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. flour
dash of salt
4 eggs, separated
2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
35 to 45 vanilla wafers
5 to 6 bananas
Preparation

Combine 1/2 cup sugar, flour and salt in a pan.
Stir in egg yolks and milk.
Blend well. Cook, uncovered, stirring until well thickened.
Reduce heat and cook for 5 minutes.
Add vanilla.
Mix with bananas and wafers. Pour into dish.
Beat remaining egg whites with sugar.
Top and brown.
Serve hot or cold.
