Beef Stefatho - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. lean beef, cut into 2-inch cubes
    2 lb. small onions
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    2 bay leaves
    1 c. tomato sauce
    1/2 c. wine or 2 Tbsp. wine vinegar
    4 Tbsp. olive oil
    2 cloves garlic
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Brown beef cubes, then add remaining ingredients in order given.
    Cover pan and simmer without stirring for 2 hours or until meat is tender and liquid is reduced.
    Makes 5 servings.
