Corn Dog Bites - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. self-rising flour
    2/3 c. cornmeal
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 large egg, beaten lightly
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 (16 oz.) pkg. frankfurters
    vegetable oil
    mustard
    catsup
Preparation
    Combine first 3 ingredients in a large bowl.
    Combine 2 tablespoons of oil, egg and buttermilk.
    Stir into flour mixture, mixing well.
    Cut each hot dog into 5 pieces.
    Dip each into batter and coat completely.
    Pour oil to depth of 3 to 4 inches into a Dutch oven.
    Heat to 375\u00b0.
    Fry pieces until golden.
    Turn once.
    Serve immediately with mustard and catsup.
