Squash Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. squash (fresh or frozen)
    2 onions, sliced
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 egg
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/2 stick butter
    1/4 c. milk
    1 c. bread crumbs
    1 c. grated cheese
Preparation
    Cook squash and onions in salted water until tender.
    Drain. Beat until light.
    Add remaining ingredients, reserving 1/3 of the cheese and bread crumbs for a topping.
    Pour into a buttered casserole dish and top with cheese and crumbs.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until cheese melts, and top is light brown.
