Never-Fail Custard Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 eggs, beaten
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. scalded milk
    nutmeg
    9 or 10-inch unbaked pie shell
Preparation
    Combine beaten eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla; add to scalded milk, stirring continuously.
    Pour 2/3 of mixture into pie shell. Sit it on oven rack and pour in remaining filling.
    Sprinkle with nutmeg.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
    Reduce heat to 350\u00b0 and bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes, until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
