Soft Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. molasses
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 3/4 c. flour
    3/4 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Combine molasses, sugar, shortening, egg, ginger, salt and baking soda.
    Beat until smooth.
    Add flour; mix well.
    Add boiling water.
    Beat until smooth.
    Pour in 8-inch square buttered baking pan.
    Place in preheated oven at 350\u00b0 and bake for 35 minutes.
