Walla Walla Onion Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. onion, chopped
    1/4 c. butter, melted
    1 c. cooked long grain rice
    8 oz. sour cream
    1 c. shredded Swiss or Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Saute
    onion
    in butter until see-through.
    Remove from heat. Stir in rice and sour cream.
    Spread half onion mixture in a greased
    12
    x 8 x 2-inch baking dish.
    Sprinkle with 1/2 cup cheese.
    Repeat
    layers.
    Cover
    and
    bake
    at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Uncover
    and
    bake an additional 15 minutes or until brown.
    Serves 6 to 8.
