Hamburger Vegetable Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 lb. ground beef
    1/4 c. canned tomatoes
    1 small carrot, diced
    1/2 stalk celery, diced
    1/2 small onion, chopped
    1/4 c. pearl barley
    1 small potato, cubed
    1 1/2 c. water
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Brown the ground beef over medium heat; drain off excess fat. Add carrots, celery, onion, barley, potatoes and water, salt and pepper to taste.
    Simmer for about 1 hour until the barley is tender.
    Serves 2.
