Delicious Christmas Date Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
pinch of salt
3 eggs
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. applesauce
1/2 c. dates
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Preparation

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, one at a time.
Sift dry ingredients together and sprinkle a little over dates and nuts. Add applesauce, nuts, dates and last the dry ingredients to sugar mixture.
Bake in 2 layer pans for 30 minutes at 375\u00b0.
Spread with fruit filling between layers after both are cool.
