Ingredients

1 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
3 c. flour or more
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 c. shortening or butter
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sour cream
raisins (optional)
Preparation

Cream together the shortening and sugars until creamy and fluffy.
Beat in eggs.
Stir in sour cream, blending well.
Sift dry ingredients with flour.
Add to batter with lemon or vanilla extract.
Add enough flour so dough can be easily rolled out.
