Red Sweet Sour Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. cider vinegar
    1/2 c. water
    1 good size red cabbage, shredded
    1/2 bay leaf
    1/4 tsp. ground cloves
    dash of onion powder
    3 apples, peeled and chopped
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    8 or 9 strips bacon, cut in small pieces and browned
Preparation
    Mix together the vinegar and water; bring to a boil.
    Add cabbage and mix well.
    Cook 1/2 hour and 5 minutes on high and then on low.
    Stir a few times.
    Add bay leaf, cloves, onion powder, apples, salt, pepper and sugar.
    Brown bacon pieces in skillet; pour over cabbage, including the grease.
    Mix well and cook for 1 hour on low.
    Let stand a few hours.
    Fill your tummy.
