Tomato Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 lb. (1 stick) margarine
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 slices bread, finely torn
    pepper (optional)
Preparation
    Cook tomatoes and bread until quite thick.
    Add sugar, margarine, salt and pepper. Turn into a buttered 8-cup casserole. Bake in 350\u00b0 oven, uncovered, one hour or more.
    Pudding should be glazed and brown on top.
    Yields 8 servings.
