Alton'S Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 or 6 cups potatoes cut into 1/2 inch cubes
    3 cups vidalia or Texas sweet onions, chopped
    Water to cover onions and potatoes
    5 or 6 bouillon cubes
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1/2 tsp. garlic powder
    4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1/2 pint half and half
    2 Tbsp. sour cream
Preparation
    Bring potatoes and onions to a boil in salty water.
    Add bouillon cubes and simmer for 30 to 45 minutes.
    Remove half of the potatoes and onions and put through a blender or use mixer. Return to pot and add seasonings, butter, half and half, and sour cream.
    Heat but do not boil.
