Anise Marinated Fruits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. aniseed
    1 c. water
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    6 to 9 c. assorted fresh fruits, cut into chunks or balls (such as melon, pineapple, orange, grapes, kiwi, strawberries, peaches, pears, apples, etc.)
Preparation
    Tie aniseed in a little cloth bag.
    Place in saucepan with water, sugar and lemon juice.
    Bring to a boil; cook for 5 to 7 minutes, until about 1 cup of thin golden syrup is formed.
    Do not remove bag!
    Cool slightly and pour over fruit pieces in a glass bowl.
