Italian Cream Cake And Icing - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 c. Crisco
4 eggs, separated
1 c. buttermilk
2 c. flour
2 c. coconut
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream sugar, butter and Crisco.
Add beaten egg yolks, one at a time.
Mix soda with milk.
Then add milk alternately with flour to creamed mixture.
Add coconut and pecans.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Makes 3 layers.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes or until tested with a toothpick and it does not stick.
