Ginger Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. cucumbers (large and fully grown)
    3 c. lime
    2 gal. water
    1/2 c. alum
    2 gal. water
    1/2 c. ginger
    2 gal. water
    3 pt. apple vinegar
    2 pt. water
    5 lb. sugar
    1/2 box pickling spices (tie spice in bag)
Preparation
    Mix.
    Heat for 1 hour and put in jars.
    Seal while hot.
