Strawberry Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. mashed strawberries
    4 c. sugar
    1 pkg. powdered Sure-Jell
    3/4 c. water
Preparation
    Combine berries and sugar.
    Let stand 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Stir Sure-Jell into water.
    Bring to a rapid boil.
    Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly.
    Remove from stove and add to berries.
    Stir about 2 minutes.
    Cover bowl with paper towel and let stand 24 hours.
    Put in jelly jars. Top with wax paper rounds and then lids. Store in freezer.
    Recipe can be doubled.
