Chili Con Carne - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. lean ground beef
4 Tbsp. chili powder
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1 large onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 c. water
1 bay leaf
2 Tbsp. pure vegetable oil
2 Tbsp. flour
2 (1 lb.) cans red kidney beans (undrained)
Preparation

In a Dutch oven or large wide saucepan over moderately low heat, brown the beef, crumbling it with a fork; push beef to one side and spoon off any fat.
Sprinkle meat with chili powder, salt and sugar; mix well.
Add onion, green pepper, tomato sauce, water and bay leaf.
Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 1 hour.
Remove bay leaf.
