Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (9-inch) pie shell (fresh or store bought)
6 c. (1 1/2 to 2 qt.) fresh strawberries
1 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. water
5 oz. cream cheese, softened
Preparation

Bake pie shell per directions and set aside to cool.
Mash 1 cup of berries.
Stir together sugar and cornstarch.
Add slowly the water and mashed strawberries.
(Cut medium stirring as you go until thickens and boils.
Boil and stir for 1 minute.
Cool.) Beat cream cheese until smooth, spread on pie shell.
Fill shell with remaining berries.
Pour cooked berry mixture over top and chill for 3 hours.
(This adds a bit of a surprise to blueberry pie!)
