Bride Delight - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter or margarine (1 c.)
    2 c. granulated sugar
    4 eggs, separated
    3 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter.
    Add sugar; mix well.
    Add beaten egg yolks; blend until light yellow.
    Sift flour 3 times.
    Add a little flour and milk alternately until you have used 2/3 of the flour.
    Mix baking powder with remainder of the flour; continue with the rest of the milk.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Fold in beaten egg whites and vanilla.
    Use 9-inch pans.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes. Frost with favorite icing.
