German Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. German chocolate
    1/2 c. boiling water
    1 c. butter
    4 egg yolks, unbeaten
    4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Melt chocolate in boiling water.
    Cool.
    Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
    Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating after each.
    Add melted chocolate and vanilla; mix well.
    Sift flour and add alternately with buttermilk to chocolate mixture.
    Beat well, until smooth.
    Fold in egg whites.
    Pour into 3 (8 to 9-inch) cake layer pans, lined with paper.
    Bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 30 to 40 minutes.
    Cool.
    Frost layer tops only with Coconut-Pecan Icing.
