Pickle Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 carrots, finely chopped
    4 qt. grated cucumbers
    2 green peppers, chopped
    3 onions
    1/3 c. salt
    5 c. sugar
    3 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    2 yellow or red peppers
Preparation
    Soak chopped vegetables in 1/3 cup salt and cover with 3 trays of ice for 3 hours.
    Drain off juice.
    Bring all other ingredients to boil, then put in vegetable mixture and bring to a boil.
    Put in jars and seal.
