Smoky Chowder - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 lb. salt pork, rinsed and diced
1 large yellow onion, sliced
4 medium potatoes, diced
salt and pepper to taste
1 bay leaf
4 c. milk
1 1/2 lb. smoked fillet of cod or haddock, cubed
Preparation

Brown salt pork in Dutch oven. Add onion and saute until transparent. Add potatoes and water to cover. Salt and pepper to taste and bay leaf.
Careful with salt as fish will add salt as well. Bring to a boil and reduce to simmer.
When potatoes are almost tender, add milk and fish and simmer for 10 minutes.
