Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
4 Tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
1 pie shell
2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
4 Tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation

Place sugar and flour in top of double boiler.
Slowly add the milk.
Cook in the double boiler, stirring constantly until thickened.
Add egg yolks and cook 3 minutes longer.
Remove from the heat and add the butter.
When cool, add the vanilla extract, then pour the mixture into a baked pie crust.
Cover with meringue or whipped cream.
