Punch Bowl Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box yellow cake mix
    2 large boxes vanilla instant pudding
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    1 can cherry pie filling
    1 large container Cool Whip
    1 jar maraschino cherries
    chopped nuts (for garnish)
Preparation
    Mix cake as directed on box and bake in 9 x 13-inch pan.
    When cake is cool, crumble half of it in bottom of punch bowl.
    Mix 1 box pudding as directed on box and pour over cake.
    Spread 1/2 pineapple over pudding mixture.
    Add 1/2 of cherry pie filling over pineapple.
    Add remainder of crumbled cake; spread other box of pudding mixture on cake.
    Add remainder of pineapple over pudding; then add remainder of pie filling.
    Top with Cool Whip.
    Place cherries over top of Cool Whip after they have been drained, then sprinkle nuts on top.
