Large Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 large eggs, separated
    1 1/2 c. Crisco
    1 1/2 c. cake flour
    1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. vanilla or lemon
Preparation
    Beat sugar and shortening; add egg yolks 1 at a time, alternating with flour, beating after each addition. Add flavoring. Dough will be stiff. Beat egg whites, then fold into batter. Bake in tube pan at 300\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours. Then bake 1/2 hour at 325\u00b0. Reduce heat to 300\u00b0 and bake 1 more hour. Bake real slow.
