Banana Oatmeal Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/3 c. uncooked oats (regular)
1/4 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 ripe bananas, mashed
2 c. unbleached plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Combine oats and buttermilk; set aside.
Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well.
Stir in bananas and oat mixture.
Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
Stir into various mixtures.
Spoon into greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
Bake about 50 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Makes one loaf.
